Detention Hollow Metal Doors and Frames
Norment fully engineers Detention Hollow Metal systems to ensure compliance with project specifications and specified testing and fabrication standards. Typically these systems are manufactured from 12 and 14 gauge hollow metal, and fabricated by companies across the United States specializing in cutting and welding raw metal products. Norment engineers document each door and frame in order to precisely coordinate dimensions, installation techniques, glass and glazing, control and monitoring wire and conduit, fire rating, and, most importantly, all door hardware from closers to locks to thresholds. Norment's expertise in engineering and coordinating hollow metal fabrication ensures timely delivery of products which correctly fit the intended opening, eliminating the delays caused by the need for re-fabrication or reinstallation.
Custom Modular Cell Systems

Norment's prefabricated MaxWall jail cell is a fully modular system comprised of double-skinned 12 gauge galvanealed steel panels with interlocking rabbetted edges. Each panel is manufactured with 28 gauge internal steel reinforcements, installed in heavy steel channels, and grouted with 3,000 psi concrete after installation to further enhance security and substantially reduce sound transmission. MaxWall meets the ASTM F2322 Standard on Physical Assault on Vertical Barriers, and has the advantage of quick delivery, economy, efficient use of space, and proven performance. MaxWall has been used in several types of construction applications including modular cells and security wall systems.
